Fire Strings “Hybrid String Instrument” For Kontakt

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Fire Strings will ignite your creativity with 6GB of custom recorded sounds inside an extremely powerful engine powered by Native instruments Kontakt sampler.

Fire Strings is a hybrid, scoring and music production tool for cinematic composers and producers. The library consists of a highly curated collection of cinematic sounds created from recordings of electric violin and guitars recorded through high end analog signal paths (Neve, API, Universal Audio, Manley) and put through extensive sound design processes by a team of sound designers.

Over 140 sounds including sustains, textures and grooves are included.

THE ENGINE

Each sequencer has advanced controls which allow you to change the speed, number of steps, direction, offset, fade-in, nudge and loop individually per sequencer. Each sequencer also has copy/paste functions, randomisation and built-in presets.

Fire Strings is an incredibly advanced instrument for Kontakt. Combine two sound sources and rhythmically swap between each sound or create rich evolving soundscapes with gradual modulation. There are also presets per sequencer so you can quickly select pre-built tools to add rhythm and variation instantly.

The 11 effects per sound can be controlled randomly or in positive or negative directions at the press of a button. The amount of control here is unprecedented and opens up a vast world of sound design capabilities.

An additional 8 global send and insert effects allow for even further sound manipulating possibilities.

CONTENT

The library content is broken down into three main categories:

Tonal – This section of the library contains electric violin sustains and textures both of a traditional and extended nature. We dug very deep to push well beyond common technique. Here you’ll find everything from standard sustains and tremolos to the extremely jarring spectral scrubs, harmonics, trills, wild microtonal bends and vibrato.

Risers – Risers offers a collection of long, tension building glissandos played with a variety of bowing and fingering techniques, perfect for developing climaxes.

Rhythmic – The rhythmic content consists of dozens of tonal, tempo-synced electric guitar grooves that serve as the perfect starting point for a cue. All grooves are mapped across several octaves and are freely transposable.

Paris Sampling Motion

Movement-Cover-Short.png

Motion Cinematic Grooves for Kontakt  is a cinematic, hybrid scoring tool designed to give composers instantly inspiring rhythmic soundscapes that will immediately add drive and impact to cinematic compositions.

The library is created from acoustic material recorded by composer and producer Olajide Paris. Paris has been the guiding hand behind several critically acclaimed libraries for the likes of 8Dio, Impact Soundworks, Audio Imperia, and Private Labs Audio.

Motion consists of more than 1000 organic rhythms created from electric violin, contrabass, and electric bass, put through extensive sound design processes. All rhythms are tempo-synced and freely transposable to any key via keyswitches. Many grooves come in major, minor, and power chord variants. Though sourced from those three instruments, the sounds have been suitably mangled and stomped on, resulting in audio elements akin to anything from broken muscle car engines, to rhythmic chalkboard scrapings and the sonic pounding of ion propulsion systems sending alien vessels hurtling through space. The results of this sound design are truly inspiring, and make both perfect starting points and final finishes to scores and soundscapes alike.

The library is built in a modified version of the open-source Photosynthesis engine for Kontakt which features extensive effects, modulation, and rhythmic control for nearly infinite possibilities.

New Beginnings

There’s a lot of new beginnings in this library. Many of these sounds were crafted with the idea of igniting the spark of inspiration to set you off on your own rhythmic expedition, which is why we’ve taken the time to craft and mold some sounds that don’t fit under the generic labels of many of today’s sound design tools. Rhythm is often one of the first episodes in crafting a new song, and Motion easily provides that foundation. Musician’s writer’s block can hit even the most prolific of composers, we present you the cure.

A Finishing Touch

When designing soundscapes, it’s often difficult to round them out with a fine finish that gets it moving and progressing from phrase to phrase. Motion was created with that idea, to move the sound forward, offering a final polish of bass and movement. Whether creating a rising tension in a video game track or horror movie, or needing a driving line to an industrial or heavy metal piece, Motion gets the job done.

The Engine

Motion uses a specially modified version of the Kontakt engine Photosynthesis. Photosynthesis was created by composer Jeremiah Pena in 2016 and is not only used in our libraries, but also in Audio Imperia and Soundethers libraries. It offers four screens with tons of customization options:

  • Main Engine: Allows for blending up to three layers of sound and provides basic filter modulation.

GUI-Main

  •  FX engine: A keyswitch enabled page, allowing the addition of editable Lo-Fi, Screamer, Distortion, and Jump FX to truly make your sounds unique and pump with life.

FX-1

  • Rhythm Engine: Add your own rhythmic delicacy with the step sequencer, and drive up the sense of movement with the on-board LFOs for panning, gain, pitch, and filters.

Rhythm-2

  • Output Engine: Controls further stereo, transient, EQ, and compressor effects.
